A combination of factors can contribute to that pesky total cholesterol #: (1) your diet, (2) your weight, (3) whether you smoke, (4) how much 🍷 🥃 🍺 you drink, (5) how much you exercise 🤾🏻‍♀, (6) your general health, (7) and any medications 💊 you may be taking. That’s why it is important to understand ALL of the #’s behind your Total cholesterol: HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), and TRY (triglycerides). You add together the HDL, LDL and 20% of the TRY to get your Total cholesterol. Doctor’s recommend Total cholesterol #’s be < 200, HDL > 60, LDL < 100, and TRY < 150. The recommended ratio for these 3 numbers is < 3.3. This is where it can get confusing 😟 Even if I have a Total cholesterol of 200, my LDL may be over 100 (let’s say 135), which would mean decreasing LDL# to avoid 💊 and/or continuing to contribute to a chronic ❤ condition. My recommendation is to make all cholesterol #’s optimal to minimize risk of ❤ disease! The next 4 days we will unpack each component of Total cholesterol, explaining what it is, what it does and how to improve it, to get to an optimal level of ❤ health! 😎💯

A combination of factors can contribute to that pesky total cholesterol #: (1) your diet, (2) your weight, (3) whether you smoke, (4) how much 🍷 🥃 🍺 you drink, (5) how much you exercise 🤾🏻‍♀, (6) your general health, (7) and any medications 💊 you may be taking. That’s why it is important to understand ALL of the #’s behind your Total cholesterol: HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), and TRY (triglycerides). You add together the HDL, LDL and 20% of the TRY to get your Total cholesterol. Doctor’s recommend Total cholesterol #’s be < 200, HDL > 60, LDL < 100, and TRY < 150. The recommended ratio for these 3 numbers is < 3.3. This is where it can get confusing 😟 Even if I have a Total cholesterol of 200, my LDL may be over 100 (let’s say 135), which would mean decreasing LDL# to avoid 💊 and/or continuing to contribute to a chronic ❤ condition. This was THE yummiest goan prawn curry served with rice and kale. Silent speed eating and clean bowls followed this picture. I am new to using @holycowsauces they are for sale on Amazon and Ocado and are safe for vegans/ceoliacs and more. The best bit though is that for each pack sold they sponsor a free school meal in India 👏 amazing! Sadly not low fodmap as contain garlic and onion, I was ok with a small amount when reintroducing so took the risk and thankfully have had no side affects! 😊

Just a perfect snack😁Low Carb❗ Tortillas Chips, quick and easy baked keto chips with only 5 ingredients. 100 % grain-free, Paleo + Vegan. Those are life changing chips made of almond meal and chia seeds and only 0.4 net carb per chips. And it tastes AMAZING 👍👌😎.

 Ingredients:
1 tablespoon black chia seeds
1/4 cup water
1 cup almond meal - I used blanched almond meal/ground
1 tablespoon olive oil

Spices recommended:
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon nutritional yeast - optional great for a natural cheese flavor

Instructions:

1.Preheat oven to 200 C (390F)
2.In a small bowl add the chia seeds and water. Stir with a spoon to combine. Set aside for 10 minutes or until a gel-like texture form. 
3. In another large mixing bowl, add almond meal, olive oil, spices and the chia seed gel created before.
4.Knead dough by hands, squeezing the mixing between your finger to incorporate the chia gel into the almond meal, until it forms a dough. It shouldn't take more than 1 minute to form a dough ball. 
5.Place the dough ball between two pieces of parchment paper, and rool out with a rolling pin as thinly as possible. 
6.Remove the top layer of parchment paper, cut out tortillas chips using a pizza cutter or sharp knife. To make triangle chips (tortillas shapes), simply place a round shape on top of the rolled dough. Cut around the lid, remove the dough outside of the lid - keep it for later to roll again and make more chips! You should end up with a circle of rolled dough. Then, using the pizza cutter cut triangle as you will cut a round cake.
7.Move the dough with parchment paper  onto a baking sheet.
8.Bake for 6 minutes, check the color and stop baking as soon as you reach a golden brown color. For very thin chips it took 6-7 minutes. For thicker chips it could take up to 8-9 minutes. I recommend you to bake for 6 minutes then check every 1 minute to avoid the chips to burn. 
9.Remove from the oven when golden brown and let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet
10.Use a flat tool like a knife or small spatula to remove/lift the tortillas chips from the parchment paper.

Right ☝️ Full disclosure here: I have often used my meals (especially at dinner time) to block out the day, to ignore uncomfortable feelings and to “tap out” ❌ I would do that by overeating and consuming heavy foods, resulting in self-induced food comas 😴🥴 The next morning, I would wake up feeling bloated and foggy 😒 This would cause me restrict my food during the day, causing my body and mind to go under stress, followed by more bloating 😦 By the end of the day, I was really hungry so would overeat 🙉  And so the cycle would continue 🤯 Can you relate? 🙄

I needed to change and shake things up 🧚‍♀️ When a work friend asked me if I was interested in giving a raw vegan challenge a go with him, I suspected this could be something to help bring about much needed change to my life 🌈🔮 And so began a four week experiment of eating only raw foods at the start of 2019 🥑

My first banana bread ever 😊 Gluten, sugar, cruelty free 🌱

Waking up this morning, I said to myself that I should make some pancakes, so I won’t have to throw away the ripped bananas I had in fridge. Digestion is good after the surgery, so I must not freak out at the thought of eating banana. And then an idea came to my mind - why not experiment and make something new? Like a banana bread, for example 😁 So I searched for recipes online and finally settled to one which I could adapt with the ingredients I had in house. I still had to go to the store to get baking powder 😤 but I knew the recipe won’t be a success without it so I compromised and went for it.

My first banana bread ever 😊 Gluten, sugar, cruelty free 🌱 Waking up this morning, I said to myself that I should make some pancakes, so I won’t have to throw away the ripped bananas I had in fridge. Digestion is good after the surgery, so I must not freak out at the thought of eating banana. And then an idea came to my mind - why not experiment and make something new? Like a banana bread, for example 😁 So I searched for recipes online and finally settled to one which I could adapt with the ingredients I had in house. I still had to go to the store to get baking powder 😤 but I knew the recipe won’t be a success without it so I compromised and went for it. Chocolate oat banana pancakes by @oatmeal_stories 💛 Recipe:⠀
Ingredients⠀
3/4 cup rolled oats⠀
1 tbsp cacao powder⠀
1 tsp baking powder⠀
1 ripe banana⠀
1/2 cup oat milk⠀
1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar⠀
1 tsp vanilla⠀
⠀
How To Make:⠀
Mix oat milk with apple cider vinegar and set aside. Place oats in a food processor and blitz to flour consistency. Mash the banana with a fork, add milk mixture and vanilla and stir to combine. In a bowl mix oat flour, cacao powder and baking powder, add wet ingredients and and stir until combined, don't overmix. Bake your pancakes on a hot skillet greased with a drop of coconut oil. Serve warm with your favourite toppings and maple syrup. Enjoy! #veganfoodspace #veganbreakfast #breakfastideas

Cacao chai porridge is always a good idea and on a Monday even more, right?😉
I love chai spiced and paired with cacao and coconut is heaven in bowl😊
To prep this beauty, I mixed 1/2 C of buckwheat flakes (or rolled oats) with 1/2 C of @rebel_kitchen chai mylk), 1 C of water and brought to a simmer over low heat.
Then added 1 T of @therawchocolatecompany cacao powder, 1 heaped T of @macacha_uk cacao beauty blend, 1 t of cinnamon, 1/2 t of vanilla.
Cooked it until nice and creamy and then added all the toppings..banana, crunchy pumpkin seeds and coconut chips, a sprinkle of cacao nibs, rose petals and finished it off with a nice dollop of @coyo_uk  cacao coconut yogurt😍
Literally the best cuddle in a bowl! So full of spices, coconut creaminess, cacao power and lots of love of course which is always the secret ingredient😉
Jokes, aside I have a customer where I work that always tells me how she can taste the passion and care I put into my treats☺️and yesterday which was a day that I was rushing around with so much to do and so much on my mind not being really present, she was like “it tastes delicious as always but it’s like there is something missing”..how interesting, isn’t it?
It may have just been a coincidence but it’s a bit like when we eat something made from our mom or someone we love, it always tastes so good..we can have it somewhere else and it will just not be the same. It’s that care and love that went into it that adds that special extra touch☺️And I think it’s good to remember that it’s okay to put the same care and love when prepping our own food. Yes, we don’t always have time but if we can make that time (and we often can), let’s try to. Good intention for the week ahead😊Happy Monday!❤️#sweetnutrition

Anche quest'anno l'unico agnellino che ho mangiato è stato questo. Nessuna coscienza sporca di morte, né mani sporche di sangue. Un giorno in cui si dovrebbe celebrare la vita e la pace, non si fa altro che uccidere ed avere la morte nel piatto.

Buona Pasqua a chi sceglie la vita, ogni giorno. ✨
