This is our Moon tonight.. So beautiful and so close!!! Beyond the Sun, the Moon is very important for our life and the life of many species on Earth. Without the Moon we wouldn't have the inclination in the planet's exile around 23,5°, we wouldn't have the climate stations, the tides and the day on Earth would be around 8 or 10 hours. Love u Moon 😘

Tycho Crater – diameter is 86 km and it is about 4.8 km in depth, located in the southern region of the moon. The crater was named after Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546–1601). From Wikipedia, “The crater is sharply defined, unlike older craters that have been degraded by subsequent impacts. The interior has a high albedo that is prominent when the Sun is overhead, and the crater is surrounded by a distinctive ray system forming long spokes that reach as long as 1,500 kilometers. Sections of these rays can be observed even when Tycho is illuminated only by earthlight.

I got up at 5:00am to go to the bathroom when I spotted this beauty out of the window. Bleary-eyed and still half asleep, I scrambled to find my DLSR and went outside to capture these pics.

Hope you all enjoy tonight’s full moon energy. I’ll be out in it all night, reconnecting with the source. I’m always excited for these days and I finally understand why. Never actually realized how In tune I am with our universe. And I couldn’t be more grateful. What a wonderful experience. 🌑✨

Reposted from @nasasolarsystem - Scientists have discovered “tadpoles” of hot plasma occasionally rising thousands of miles above the surface of the Sun. They may help explain a long-standing mystery: why the Sun’s atmosphere is even hotter than its surface.

See details at solarsystem.nasa.gov/news (link in bio)

For 150 years scientists have been trying to figure out why the wispy upper atmosphere of the Sun — the corona — is over 200 times hotter than the solar surface. This region, which extends millions of miles, somehow becomes superheated and continually releases highly charged particles, which race across the solar system at supersonic speeds.

When those particles encounter Earth, they have the potential to harm satellites and astronauts, disrupt telecommunications, and even interfere with power grids during particularly strong events. Understanding how the corona gets so hot can ultimately help us understand the fundamental physics behind what drives these disruptions.

#supermoon

Before anyone replies back "that's not possible!" - think about how our own Milky Way galaxy alone has an estimated of four BILLION stars and billions of planetary systems like our own.

Think of all the NEBULAS!! Those are stellar nurseries. Thousands to millions of newborn stars come from nebulae - like our own Sun did some 5 billion years ago.

Now - think about how, in our own local group, in the Laniakea cluster, there are an estimate of about 150 million GALAXIES. Now, think, folks: on average each galaxy has about 300 BILLION stars. Do you really think 250 million new stars is a lot compared to all that?

How do you think OUR Sun plays a part in the grand scheme of our VERY young (only 15 billion years old) and yet VERY ancient Universe? We are a speck on a speck on a speck in our Milky Way galaxy alone.

Compared to our Local Group? Compared to the Laniakea cluster? Compared to the WHOLE UNIVERSE?

Think about that.

Repost from @tamihawleydivinedove using @RepostRegramApp - We are under the influence of a Full Snow #Supermoon in #Virgo.

The #FullMoon is the #Moon of celebrations, clarity & optimal energy. During this phase we are being asked to celebrate our accomplishments, be open to new information, and move into full awareness in our lives.

The Supermoon — meaning the Moon is very close to #Earth in its rotation and appears bigger than normal — supercharges the Moon’s energy. So watch intense emotions and be aware of the “crazies.” The #SnowMoon asks us to focus on our home and create warmth. Make your home environment cozy and welcoming, and create meals filled with warm foods and drink warm beverages. Light candles and cuddle up in a warm blanket near the fireplace. Focus on your inner home, taking time for meditations and prayers that focus on gratitude and love.

When we stay positive and authentic, Virgo energy helps us be modest and humble, responsible, logical, and organized. When we are negative and fearful, Virgo could make us obsessive, critical, and be a perfectionist. Which will you choose?

Today I will go within, ask myself where I have been too “cold” and need clarity & purification, and then be receptive to the answers I receive.

😍 "Look up, people: February’s full moon, normally nicknamed the “snow moon,” will also be the brightest super moon of the year, and it will be visible across New England Tuesday night.

Full moons in February are often nicknamed the snow moon, for how much snow tends to fall in the month.

However, this one is special: It’s also a super moon, and the brightest one at that.

According to the NASA, full moons are considered super moons when the moon is at its closest point in its orbit to earth, or its perigee.

The super snow moon is the second of a trio of super moons 2019 will see. In January, we had an eclipse during a super blood wolf moon; the third super moon will come up in March.

When and where can I see it?
People across New England posted photos Monday night and early Tuesday as the moon headed toward peak fullness, which it technically reached after moonset, at 10:53 a.m. Tuesday. So when darkness falls and the moon rises Tuesday, it will be a little bit on the wane.

But don’t sweat — it will still be pretty impressive after it rises again. You can catch it when it starts to rise at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday in Boston (or, you can check your location here for when the moon rises and sets). The moon will rise in the northeast and set in the northwest.

Weather shouldn’t be a problem. The National Weather Service is predicting that there will be mostly clear skies tonight and some clouds Wednesday, so the super snow moon will be visible in the sky until it sets at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday."

“I look up at the night sky, and I know that, yes, we are part of this Universe, we are in this Universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us. When I reflect on that fact, I look up—many people feel small, because they’re small and the Universe is big, but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars.” ― Neil deGrasse Tyson

“Beyond the edge of the world there’s a space where emptiness and substance neatly overlap, where past and future form a continuous, endless loop. And, hovering about, there are signs no one has ever read, chords no one has ever heard.” ― Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore
