Only slight exaggeration... but FOR REAL HOLY SORE. I had to make do with what I had at the gym today cause every squat rack was taken and every other machine I usually like to use during legs where occupied too🤨 BUT actually so happy it forced me to try new things out cause I haven’t felt this sore in a hot minute 🔥

•Hip thrusts (pyramid - increase weight, decrease reps : 5 sets)

One of the girls from the Trial #fitin5 program I had online! She did so well! We didn’t take away any food the entire 5 weeks, just changed up a few macros (ended in the same calorie intake) at the end just to see how she would respond. She hit her weight goal, she found strength increases in all her lifts. And most importantly, she is happy! It was such a pleasure coaching someone who asks questions and wants to learn more! To anyone out there training with a trainer, or who has a online coach... don’t be afraid to ask “why” or dig deeper to find out what they suggest for you and your plan. That’s their job! One meal (or a couple) and a few extra drinks won’t completely derail your path to your goals if you’re consistent the rest of the week, week in and week out. So, just consider today a fresh start to the end of your weekend. Finish strong, with your goals in mind. There’s no need to wait until next Monday to start fresh - just start now.

I mixed 3 weetabix with @missfitsnutrition chocolate protein and soya milk and microwaved for 4 minutes

I topped mine off with banana, cocoa nibs, @sweetfreedomuk choc shot and peanut butter 🤤😍 SO indulgent AND it’s vegan 💃🏼💃🏼

hiiii friends, y'all still remember me?? well i hope soo but ya girl is back after a hot minute😅. i'm alive, just drowning in school work & constantly studying. school is my biggest priority this semester because i'm really focusing on getting my grades back up so i've had to put this acc to the side for a while😔. i'll try to be as consistent as possible, but no promises... i'm sorry!! if you're a student too, i'm sure you understand! life has been going well, ups & downs as usual, but the greatest thing is i haven't been seeing the downs as much. shifting my mindset from taking all the negative things that happen to me & viewing it as an opportunity for growth has really helped my mental health so far this year☺. even though someone accidently misplaced my laptop charger today (aka my prized possession with all my research articles & docs on it that i need to refer to write papers for this week😳), my extremely generous dad & brother are willing to ship me a new one. let's live life & be happy! smile even if you don't feel like it 😄 light up the room that you're in

This dish was completely improvised: I actually was making creamed spinach and then decided I could turn it into a meal instead of a side, so I rinsed, dried, and added @nasoya noodles and some leftover chicken. Super simple ingredients! @lovemyphilly cream cheese, butter, heavy cream, parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper, and I added a bit of chopped parsley on top. .

I’ve only had stuffed peppers once in my life but did some research on some basic recipes and came up with this! It turned out BOMB and I’m definitely making this again.🤤⁣⁣

—1 lb 93% Lean Ground Turkey ⁣⁣⁣
—245g Sweet Italian Sausage w/out casing ~half the package⁣⁣⁣
—950g Bell Peppers ~ 4 peppers cut in half⁣⁣⁣
—250g Cooked Basmati Rice (I used the microwaveable kind to save time)⁣⁣⁣
—226g White Onion ⁣~1 medium onion⁣⁣
—1 tbsp Minced Garlic ⁣⁣⁣
—240ml Low Sodium Chicken Broth⁣⁣⁣
—8oz can of Tomato Sauce⁣⁣⁣
—1 cup Chopped Fresh Parsley⁣⁣⁣
—120g Italian Style Shredded Cheese Blend ~8tbsp, 1 tbsp per pepper⁣⁣⁣
— Lots of cumin, paprika, dried basil, oregano⁣⁣⁣
— Little bit of seasoning salt, salt, crushed red pepper⁣⁣⁣
— The TINIEST bit of Lite Sugar Free Syrup to bring out some sweetness⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣
1) Cut the Peppers in half vertically so that the halves are wide/lay flat. Remove seeds/stem⁣⁣⁣s
2) Preheat oven to 350°, precook peppers for 10 min & Remove from oven⁣⁣ (skip this step if you like your peppers more firm)⁣
3) In a pot sauté onion on medium heat until translucent, add garlic then Italian Sausage & Ground Turkey⁣ - cook thoroughly ⁣⁣
4) Add spices of choice: I don’t measure my spices! Just add whatever you like, I used spices normally found in Italian food/lasagna/bolognese sauces- basil, oregano, cumin, paprika, crushed red pepper⁣⁣
5) Add 8oz tomato sauce & cooked rice & 1/2 cup Chicken Broth⁣⁣⁣
6) Lower heat, add chopped parsley & stir mixture, then fill up pepper halves with mixture (I divided everything exactly for macro counting purposes)⁣⁣⁣
7) Fill the bottom of a Pyrex dish with other 1/2 cup of Chicken Broth and lay the filled peppers on top⁣⁣⁣
8) Top each pepper with 1 tbsp Italian Style Blend Shredded Cheese⁣ & cover dish with foil⁣⁣
9) Bake for 25 min at 350°⁣⁣⁣

It's educational and long term leaves you with an awesome bank of info to empower you to make the best decisions possible for you.

Not all my coaching clients count calories, I posted a progress photo on my story yesterday of one of my clients who has never counted cals.

It's all about judging what's best for individuals.

Some don't due to previous funky food relationships some just aren't ready.

These are some of the methods we use to help keep intake under control.

👉Be smart with your liquid intake keep it mostly  0 cal.

Nothing more annoying that unwittingly consuming 400 kcals from you morning coffee.

👉Get into the habit of using a small plate to eat from and putting your fork down between bites
-
This is a crafty way of tricking the mind into thinking you're eating more than you are and slowing you down.

Drink a glass of water 20-30 minutes before you eat can help to promote feeling a little fuller and taking small sips during helps to remind you to pause for a second and help to aid digestion.

👉Use the good old hand guide to assess how your serving size is looking.

👉Have extra veg salad and cut your starches in half. Starches higher in cals veg and salad lower in calories you do maths.

If you dine out every once in a while 💯 live your life enjoy it

But eating out more than you eat in especially when you're still learning how to eat for your goals is going to make things harder for you.

Eating and prepping at home as much as you can will help you to get the basic habits established and gives you way more control of your choices.

Often when we eat for occasions it ignites the mindset of needing to eat indulgently, so making a clear distinction helps them to make more optimal decisions.

"I'm eating 800 calories a day but not losing weight"

These words only ever pass the lips of someone who is NOT eating 800 calories a day. In fact, they're normally eating 3-4 times that much!

In this example, the woman weighs 90kg, meaning she is going to maintain her weight at around 3000 calories a day.
__
So if she were genuinely only eating 800 calories a day, her weight would be dropping FAST!!
__
Some common mistakes people make:
__
1. Only tracking on the 'good days' and ignoring the weekends when you consume considerably more.

2. Not realising that alcohol contains a shit-load of calories. Fine as a treat, but it can really hamper your progress if you're having it regularly.
__
3. Not weighing foods - unless you have Jedi powers, there's no way you can know how many calories are in a food unless you WEIGH IT!!
__
4. Not tracking oils, sauces and condiments.
__
5. Not tracking your snack immediately, then forgetting you had them.
__
6. Being unrealistic when eating out. If I'm having a 3-course dinner in a nice restaurant, I'm likely to be guesstimating something in the region of 1500-2500 calories for that 1 meal. Restaurant chefs don't give a shit about calories.

I was always that “skinny” chick. Ate what I wanted and didn’t gain a pound, BUT I was weak AF and had zero stamina ! I couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath, so fuck cardio right? I could barely lift a 5 lb weight when I started taking control of my journey. -

You see , on the left I lived off curly fries and beer. The right? I have the muscle I always wanted, and work on myself daily. Was it easy? Is it easy? HELL NO 🙅🏽‍♀️ -

Want to know something I was scared of? Looking mainly..cause that’s the myth we as women listen to. If we start to lift weights we will look like men. WELL THATS FALSE BOO BOO 👏🏽 You physically cannot gain muscle like a male unless you’re taking steroids and working towards that physique. -

Want to know how I gained my lean muscle, weigh less on the right than the left, and am stronger than ever? 👇🏽
✅ Lifting daily - I split my lifts up into different muscle groups ✅ I eat more than I ever have! I eat the right things to get me to my goals. So no I’m not downing a burger, fries, and beer anymore. I’m eating Whole Foods and not restricting myself from foods I love - it’s called BALANCE
✅ I take creatine daily! Yup, you read that right. Creatine! If you’re like me and it seems impossible to gain muscle, start implementing creatine. It helps with the process of gaining that lean muscle mass. No it’s not a steroid either 💁🏽‍♀️
✅ Understand that gaining muscle takes time and patience . It’s not going to happen overnight, but it will happen 🍑 -

I finally learned how to stand up on my board instead of be on my butt the whole time 😂 I picked it up almost right away this time. Then we ended it with 2 1/2 miles ride down from the very top of the mountain.

Keep your abdominals tight, lower back straight and flat, and butt squeezed. Think “straight as a board, light as a feather” here, a floppy middle is harder to control going down and up. Keep your hands close to where your thumbs and index fingers make a triangle, then position your triangle underneath your sternum. Lower down, and push up! This is a tougher one, so modify by kneeling as needed but still keep your butt and abs contracted and back flat 💪🏼
This one focuses on the triceps and chest just like any push-up, but the triangle makes your base of support narrower and really emphasizes the triceps that much more.
